Dr. Kennedy Tyer grew up in Kingwood, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University and quickly became passionate about the traditions and service to others. He was a part of the American Medical Student Association all four years, was involved in leadership for Student Bonfire his sophomore year and was a Muster Host his senior year.
However, the most impactful organization he joined was Project Sunshine, a service organization who provides mentorship and community with children who have medical and special needs. Serving as a leader and part of the Buddy Program, where he developed a lifelong friendship with his buddy Kyle, Kennedy developed a true passion for helping others in need. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Business Administration.
Kennedy then traveled to Fort Worth and received a Master of Science for Medical Science at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. After spending a year at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida, he went in search of another avenue to impact the healthcare community that offered more attention to the individual’s needs while promoting health and wellness.
Kennedy Tyer had exposure early on in life to the field of chiropractic, with his father being a chiropractor for nearly 30 years in the Houston area. He followed in his father’s footsteps enrolling at Texas Chiropractic College in 2013. During his time there he was involved with service organizations and held several leadership positions, including Class President, Vice President of the Student Body Association, Student Ambassadors, Omega Psi Honors Society, and was a student representative for the Quality Enhancement Program which modified the curriculum to ensure congruence with clinical practice and national standards.
While at the Moody Health Center clinic, he served as a Clinical Teaching Assistant to his attending chiropractor for the students in his group. He earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic, graduating with honors from TCC in April 2016 and was awarded the Student Keeler Award for leadership and service.
Dr. Tyer interned at Natural Health Houston under Dr. Darin Mitchell during his final semester in school. He was eager to join NHH after graduation to help provide complete and quality chiropractic and nutritional care for his patients. He has dedicated himself to helping patients who are seeking care for neck, back or extremity pain, injuries from car collisions, falls or from exercise/sports, wellness, nutritional advice, and supplementation.
Dr. Tyer applies his value of service and commitment to the needs of his patients. He is driven to treat people as individuals, not a collection of symptoms, empowering them to make decisions to positively affect their health.
