So you have finally decided that giving the chiropractor a chance is a good idea. Maybe you’ve tried everything else or maybe you just know that taking a healthy, natural approach to your health is far more beneficial in the long term. Regardless of why you chose to give us a visit, we are just happy you are trusting us with your health and needs!
Some people have heard horror stories about chiropractors and come to us rather nervous or wary of their first appointment. We completely understand, and we want you to know that those horror stories did not come from our office nor are they common in chiropractic care. Please do not be worried as you and your care is in the best, most educated and most experienced hands with Natural Health Houston.
What To Expect
During your first chiropractic appointment, you will receive a full body health assessment in order to better understand your needs. Getting to know you, your lifestyle and your body are of utmost importance; therefore, we start the appointment with a medical history overview and general questions before we ever even dive into any bodywork and adjustments.
Everything after the medical history review, physical observations and kinetic testing is personalized to you and your individual needs. Once we determine what is causing your pain and perform a chiropractic adjustment, we look at other aspects of your health to give personalized lifestyle recommendations for you to take home.
For example, sometimes your pain could be caused by general inflammation that could be diminished by altering your diet. Perhaps your back pain is due to extreme tightness and inflexibility in your hip flexors; we can provide you with stretches to practice daily at home. These are the types of connections we try to make with you from the beginning.
Watch the video above for a FULL first chiropractic appointment Dr. Mitchell conducted on his new patient, Vanessa, who was very apprehensive to try chiropractic care. Thanks to Dr. Mitchell’s comprehensive knowledge, walking her through every part of the appointment and explaining every action he took, Vanessa quickly felt at ease and left very happy.
A Gentle Reminder
Keep in mind that each person and appointment is different. However, coming to your first appointment prepared with questions, details about your pain and knowledge of you and your family’s medical history will only serve you better during your time with the doctor.
